Biography

Hello! My name is Emily Benson and this is my third year in the Advantage Arts Academy library. I am so grateful to spend my days combining my passions for teaching, reading, and the arts. I grew up singing, performing, and playing the piano. I studied music education at Utah State, and then married and spent time raising my three amazing kids, and working as a private music teacher and accompanist. When I’m not in the library, or taking care of my family, you can usually find me hiking or paddle boarding with my husband Cameron. We love the mountains! Recently I’ve earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Studies from WGU with the goal of eventually being an elementary school teacher. For now I am absolutely loving being in the library, surrounding myself with amazing students and wonderful stories.
