Enrollment Process

  1. Parent Information Meeting or School Tour (optional)
Learn about the benefits of enrolling at Advantage Arts Academy (AAA) by attending an informational meeting or school tour where you can meet our team and tour our facilities.

  2. Submit an Enrollment Application
By submitting your enrollment application you are stating your desire to enroll at AAA. This places you in the applicant pool for upcoming lotteries.

  3. Lottery Process
If the number of student applications exceed the number of positions available at AAA, students will be randomly chosen to fill available positions; this process is referred to as a lottery. All applicants in the lottery pool will be considered, and a computerized lottery program will randomly select students. AAA will first enroll any existing students for the upcoming school year and give preference as applicable under Utah Code. Every effort will be made to accept all siblings in an individual family, although this may not always be possible due to the cap on class sizes and the lottery process. Siblings of students currently enrolled will be given preference if and when openings become available.

  4. Registration Process
Families will be notified via e-mail of their child’s acceptance into the school. Accepted families will be notified of the next steps in the registration process and the timeline they will need to follow. If you do not receive a notice of acceptance after you submitted your child’s application, please assume nothing has changed in regard to your students' enrollment status. Visit our Registration page for more information.

Enrollment FAQ's

Submit an online enrollment application. By submitting an enrollment application you are stating your desire to enroll your child at AAA. This places you in the applicant pool for upcoming lotteries.

Similar to traditional public schools, AAA is open to every child regardless of race, religion, disability, or academic ability. However, Advantage Arts Academy has an enrollment cap, as legislated by the State of Utah, which limits the number of students. Student applications are placed into a randomized lottery if the number of enrollment applications surpasses the maximum enrollment allowed at AAA.

Because the number of applicants will likely exceed the school’s authorized enrollment capacity, students are selected through a random lottery. When a student is chosen, siblings of the applicant (within the same household) are also invited for admission, provided openings exist. In subsequent years, students currently admitted are given preference for re-enrollment. Siblings of enrolled students are given preference relative to other applicants. AAA does not discriminate in its admission policies and practices.

We will have enrollment opportunities beginning in January of each year and continuing throughout the year as needed. After the first lottery of each year existing student numbers need to be assessed and siblings given preference, after which the lottery will be continued to fill any available openings. Any additional lotteries will occur in February or March. If your child is selected, you will receive an e-mail or a phone call. Parents/Guardians must either accept or reject the position within the period of time stated in the e-mail. If you choose not to attend, or if you do not contact the appropriate person within the given timeframe, your student will be declined and removed from the lottery database and the position will be offered to another eligible student.

Advantage Arts Academy is open to all students and does not have admissions requirements, except in accordance with statute. Children must turn five (5) on or before September 1st of the school year to enroll in Kindergarten. Applications received for children who are not old enough to attend school for the school year they are applying will not be accepted and are encouraged to apply for enrollment the following year.

Additionally, any student who has been expelled from any school, including Advantage Arts Academy, during the preceding twelve months, may be denied enrollment.

If you don't submit an enrollment application, we can tell you without a doubt your chances are nada - apply today!

However, we cannot quantify your child's chances due to the number of students applying each day for a limited number of openings. Also, we are unable to predict when and how many student openings may occur based on the number of students who will accept or decline an offer of admission.

Some applicants are eligible to receive preferential enrollment, they include: (1) applicants with a sibling that is already attending the school; (2) an applicant whose parent is a “founding member” of the school; and (3) an applicant whose parent is a teacher employed by the school; and (4) an applicant whose parent is a board member at the school.

Extra volunteer hours, special favors, services, or donations are not accepted in exchange for special preference.

If you need to update your personal information such as phone number, address, or e-mail address, or student information please log into the enrollment website to make any necessary changes.

Each student's application will remain in the lottery pool until they are accepted or the pool is closed for the school year. Each year a new lottery pool will begin and student applications will not be rolled over.

For 2020-2021, AAA’s authorized maximum student enrollment is 784 students.
