I am Ms. Parks and I am the BTS Specialist. I am a San Diego transplant who loves Utah but misses the beach. I believe you should never deny a nap, French fries, or the chance to travel somewhere new. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, creating art in many forms, spending time with my family, and hanging out with my cats.
I get the opportunity to work with both students and teachers each day to integrate visual arts with core subjects through hands-on artistic processes. As a lifelong learner, I hold a master’s degree and believe that learning should never really end. My goal is for students to stay curious, take creative risks, and understand that learning doesn’t stop when the school day does.
Before becoming a BTS Specialist, I spent years in the classroom—always looking for ways to sneak more creativity into what we were learning. Now I get to do that every day! One of my favorite challenges is taking a math, science, literacy, or social studies concept and asking, “Okay, but how could we make art out of this?” I am a big believer in trying things, making mistakes, changing the plan, and occasionally discovering that the crazy idea actually worked. Apparently, some of those crazy ideas have paid off—I was honored to be named the 2026 Utah Association of Public Charter Schools Employee of the Year.
